A seat for every story
Welcome to the first issue of The Broker's Table Magazine.
Every guest who sits at our table carries a story that deserves more than a timestamp in a podcast feed. So we are giving each of them a home: their story, the full conversation and a practical guide you can take back to your own table.
We begin with Across the Table, our new series of conversations with guests wherever they are in the world. Our first guest, Kenneth Botwe, sold kerosene on the streets of Ghana at nine years old. Today he teaches why a bigger paycheck will not save you, and what will.

Kenneth Botwe and the Kerosene Lesson
At nine he sold kerosene on the streets of Ghana. Today he teaches why a bigger paycheck will not save you, and what will.
Author, veteran and creator of Financial Metabolism
Kenneth Botwe
Kenneth Botwe grew up in poverty in Ghana, the oldest child in a household led by his mother. At nine he was selling kerosene at night and bread in the morning to help his family.
At fifteen he came to America and met his father for the first time. He finished school, served in the U.S. military and, after his service, began to truly understand money.
That understanding became Financial Metabolism, a framework for measuring what your income becomes and turning more of every paycheck into lasting wealth. He is an entrepreneur, the author of seven personal finance books and a memoir, and his stated mission is to help one million people build real wealth.

Radical Approach to WealthSeven steps from costly debt to investment accounts and long-term growth. What to remember
- Every dollar goes three places: consumption, debt reduction or growth. Wealth is decided by the mix, not the size of the paycheck.
- Financial leakage is money spent on things that do not improve your life. $50 to $300 a month becomes $600 to $3,600 a year.
- Measure first: write down take-home pay and every expense. Esther's shortcut: one month on one card, then print the statement.
