The story

Megan Alsop has been Esther's friend for more than 15 years; they met when Esther was pregnant with her first child. She grew up in California and moved to Utah in her twenties, and she now lives in the suburbs. She is adopted, has children, and shares the story of a friendship that has lasted 36 years, from the day she was born. Megan Pyra met Esther only recently, and in Esther's words they "instantly connected." She has young children at home, has moved around a lot as an adult, and describes herself as a very one-on-one person with a very high empathy level. She grew up in a Nigerian household where respect is based on age, not earned, and says that learning to set boundaries with family took time and practice. What this conversation gives you: How to tell the difference between a friend for a season and a friend for your story, and why both have value. How to say the hard thing with love, set boundaries that protect your peace, and survive the fallout. Why forgiveness and restored access are not the same thing, and how to release a friendship without bitterness. In Megan Alsop's words: "...the freedom that I have to be selective." Every season-one episode now has fresh clips going out on our channels. Comment PLAYBOOK on any clip and the Season One Collection, every playbook, guide and worksheet from the season for $79, lands in your DMs.
